Our first adventure

23rd of March 2011 (15 weeks 5 days)

Hey Little Nugget!

I can feel you swim around! I get worried now when I don’t. It’s still so early though. Dad felt you once or twice…I think I can feel you inside of me, but it’s still hard to feel you from the outside. You’ll get there. Sometimes I wonder what you are doing around there, you move so much and you vibrate!!!

Anyways, let’s talk about our week! It started off very calm, we didn’t have much to do after the French exam but the next Sunday we had ANOTHER French exam…can you believe it? How annoying but we have to do what we have to do. Except you growing like crazy (you’re like 6 and half inches!) nothing really exciting happened so Mommy is going to cheat a tiny little bit. I’m going to tell you about Saturday. You were technically 16 weeks then but that’s fine. Mommy wanted to know where the midwife center was in Pointe-Claire. Let me tell you one thing; it’s FAR. It’s pretty nice actually. We will be having our appointments in a CLSC building by the lake. It’s a beautiful view. I’ll post another post about the midwives and the appointment but for now, I’ll stick to how Saturday went for Daddy and me.

First, everything was good, Mommy got a little nauseous on the 40 minute bus drive and I seriously wonder how I am going to handle not peeing for almost two hours when I’ll be 36 weeks pregnant, but hey, everything works out no? I’ll just pee my pants. So, we finally got there. It’s not easy to miss, it has its own stop and everything. It’s a cute place. Then, daddy and me decided that we were going to eat while being there. So we went to this restaurant Piazza Romana by the lake. It was really good but I wasn’t too hungry so…well I brought three forth of the pizza back home. That pizza travelled from west to east… Anyways, so it was time to get back home and we were waiting for the bus for a really long time. When we finally saw that the bus was coming we were so happy! We took it and soon after daddy mentioned that it was “not taking the same road as it did when we arrived.” Well, it happens. Then we noticed that…well it stopped at the bus stop and noticed that it was the bus stop for the 201 and the 203….hmm! Something was deeply wrong. So daddy went to check and we were on the 201 that bring us…well NO WHERE! So we got off and walked…it was SUCH a long walk. Daddy told me it was “just over there” but really HE WAS LYING. It was like 30 minute walk with YOU inside of me. It was fun though! I did my walk for the week! It was rough!

Anyways, we got home pretty late and we went to bed almost right away. That was our first adventure. It can’t be an adventure unless you get lost…SO it WAS out first adventure.  It wasn’t our best and it was cold but hey, it has to start somewhere!

This is all for now Little Nugget! Be careful in there!

Daddy and mommy both love you.

Second appointment and Busy week!

Wednesday 16th of march 2011 (14 weeks 5 days)

Hey Little Nugget!!!

So many good news this week. I wish I could have written to you before but we had a French test that took a lot of our time. I’m quite sure we’ve done okay though. It’s sort of like you bring me luck, we’ve been doing excellent in doing exams since you’re there. I know it doesn’t mean it’s because of you but hey, two brains are better than one. So, what have we done this week? Well, we started lent, where mommy, and you, gave up any kind of sweets and yummies (coke, chips, candies…) what a huge sacrifice. I think we’ll lose weight by the time we’re done this. Although…you do make me eat like a pig and I didn’t gain any weight at all since I became pregnant. As a matter of fact, that brings us to our second doctor appointment.

I was quite scared of getting weighted because we eat anything that crosses our mind and our eyes. You must be taking a lot of those calories because we lost 2.5 pounds. It’s not “good” but it’s still considered healthy. We’ll probably gain weight by the end of pregnancy rather than in the beginning, nothing wrong with that. Other than that, you are doing GREAT. Oh and, thank you, you were good and listened to me; MOMMY GOT TO HEAR YOUR HEARTBEAT! For the very first time. It was a magical moment. I’m so happy that I got to hear it, it takes away a lot of my fears and it confirmed that I was truly feeling you. You were positioned in the very same spot that vibrated on my tummy and I think Daddy felt you already, like …once? Well maybe he said he did to make me feel better, but we can feel you when we touch the bottom of my tummy because you’re a big hard ball. You seem to move a lot depending on the time of the day but usually you stick to the left side. I guess it’s pretty comfortable for you. Good!

Other than hearing the heartbeat (that was at 140-155 bpm- the doctor didn`t confirm just said it was very good) the rest of the week was okay. Nothing too special happened. Mommy is still going crazy on shopping and buying you everything in advance. Which is quite bad (oh, you just moved!) because when we actually will get to buy blue or pink clothes you’ll already have lots of clothes…blah. That’s fine, right? Ah! I’m so curious to know if you’re going to be our Little boy or out Little girl. At this point, I have no preferences and I’ll be super happy either way but I sure am getting impatient. Can’t you just give me a sign? No…? Not even a little one? I’ve been getting mixed signals recently.

Also, great news! We got a midwife!!!! So mommy and daddy will be able to give birth to you in a birthing center instead of you being born at the hospital (which freaked the Halo out of mommy). So, that’s good news…on the bad side, it’s 2 hours away from home…and it involves a lot of bus/metro travelling. We’ll be fine right? Unless you decide to make me faint and vomit like last time. *stares*. Be a good Little Nugget!
Anyways, that was it for this week, you are evolving great! I can’t wait to have you in my arms! Time is so slow yet flying by. You’re getting really big by the way. 3 inches…almost 3.5 inches. I can’t believe you started out as the size of a sesame seed. Now you’re pretty big. Congrats….keep it healthy.

Mommy and Daddy love you a lot, can’t wait to be able to feel you move around a bit more!
Take care swim safely!

Week off! And pain

March 7th 2011 (13 weeks, 3 days)

Hi Little Nugget,

How’s it going down there. Mommy sure hopes you’re doing better than she is. I haven’t been sleeping too well these last few days. I just feel sick. Nausea is back and I’m having a lot of back pain. I’m sorry if it sounds like I’m complaining; it’s really not the case. I’m really happy that you are there and that you seem to be doing 100% fine. Wednesday we are going to the doctor, I really hope we can hear your heartbeat. I don’t know if we can though, I mean, there’s a lot of fat between you and the outside world but I have hope. If not Wednesday it will be next month or at the ultrasound when we’ll finally know if you are a little girl or a little boy! Then, intense shopping session.

Our doctor called me today, Mommy has a urinary infection. Apparently it’s nothing big. We just have to take antibiotics (that won’t harm you at all) and apparently it will all be gone in 5 days. So, let’s hope that’s what happens. Otherwise, don’t worry, Mommy will just take more medication. We are also going to the dentist today…we are having Mommy’s mouth clean. I can’t wait to go actually. I don’t really know why. It’s a new dentist…so I’m really not familiar with her but I guess I’ll become familiar fast because she’s the one who will be taking care of my mouth while you are inside of me.

I’m also very excited about this whole week. It’s your last week of the first semester! Congrats, you’re doing great. After this week, you’ll be in your second semester where you will grow more and define your features. You’re already perfect though, so don’t worry too much about it.

Last week was our “Lecture week” where University students are supposed to study and prepare for upcoming exams. Well, we did a lot of shopping and little of study. I’m really happy we got you nice things. I can’t wait to see you wear them. Please try not to grow too fast. I want Daddy and me to be able to see you grow and not wonder where time went. I think that has nothing to do with you though, but still try to remain small and lovely haha. Good luck!

Well Little Nugget, that’s going to be it for this week. Mommy is really not feeling that great.

Daddy and Mommy love you A LOT. We constantly think about you.
Be safe, don’t swim around too far.
